Traveler's love

When we travel, we bring a bag full of love. We're warm and kind to strangers. But we never talk to those 'friends' again after the trip. Traveler's love should be unbiased — towards everyone, always.

When we travel, we bring more than just clothes, money, and passports; we also bring a bag full of love. I call this “traveler’s love”. We show abundant love and affection to our fellow passengers and the strangers we encounter during our travels.

We listen to them, care for them, console them, laugh at their jokes, appreciate their gestures, offer help, and have conversations about movies, books, and more.

By the time we reach our destination, we make the others feel like they’ve made a friend for life. The same happens to us too. We return from a trip and tell our friends about the amazing new friend(s) we’ve made.

But, we never talk to those “friends” again. It’s like those pictures and videos we take with our smartphones, thinking we’ll look at them someday (but that day never comes). Even if we meet them after the trip, we don’t feel the same excitement. We feel different.

Why? I believe traveler’s love happens because traveling to a new place gives us the opportunity to be whoever we want. And despite all the choices, we choose to be kind and loveable. It’s funny because we don’t put the same effort in real life to keep up with our existing relationships.

In my opinion, love and kindness towards others should be unbiased. We can continue to show travelers’ love towards everyone all the time because we are all travelers in this life and on this planet.
